What is the first thing to look for when choosing your wedding photography & wedding videographer?

When choosing your wedding photographer & wedding videographer, the first thing you should look for is style. Do you like the look of their photos? If you do, great. If not, look for someone else, regardless of whether or not they are within your budget. Style is so important when it comes to wedding photography so choosing someone who suits you is key. If you decide you do like their style, the next thing you need to think about is how do they shoot? Are they a candid wedding photographer? Capturing the moments from the day as naturally as possible? Are they a contemporary wedding photographer? A very posed, editorial and fashion style of photography?
There are a lot of options when it comes to choosing your wedding photographer/videographer, so knowing what it is you are looking for is so important. I shoot candid wedding photography, because I feel it is the most natural way to showcase your day with very little posing. A lot of couples I have worked with aren’t comfortable in front of the camera, like a lot of us. So when it comes to the couples portraits, it is my job to get the couple looking as stunning as possible without forcing them into poses and getting them to stand and say cheese. I do that by giving prompts and playing games to get the most natural smiles out of the couple. For example, I will get couples to hold hands, slowly walk towards me whilst bumping into each other to try knock one another over. (Don’t actually knock your partner over). Meanwhile, I will be far in the distance snapping away, getting some of the best smiles and reactions. Due to this, I am featured as one of the highest rated wedding photographers in Newcastle.
